To choose a race

Every race has a particular bonus, the following text is taken from the official guide:

"Do you want an aggressive Attack bonus(Elves), or a Underground Defense Bonus(Dwarves), Do you prefer More Income based on your Economics(Humans), Or would you prefer to Take More of your enemies Gold Instead(Orcs), Do you prefer your troops to survive deadly blows in combat(trolls), or do you want to raise the dead of your enemies Casualties(Undead), Maybe you'd like to Curse your enemies Weapons (Dark elves) or Have a natural resistance to Every race (fangolians) or maybe you'd prefer the Fearsome might of the Mulroc, (Draconians) Each of these questions refer to a given race (in brackets) As at this time, The easier Races are Undead or Humans, and many may choose one of them to learn how to play, If your after more of a challenge then the Harder Races are Orcs and Trolls. These guys have a much better advantage much later in the game, and take a bit more effort to get them there."

The interesting thing is that the official race chart does not match with the units power values chart of the same ones. Under here you can view the table with the units power values for all the race.

Army

It is a good idea to have a well balanced army as this will help cut losses in attacks. You can have 50% of standard troops and the others in decreasing percentage amounts, the type of troop strongly influences your power and your income each turn! Once you have been in the clan for 3 weeks you have access to a tool which will help you balance your army. Remembered that every day you get given a number of troops proportional to the level of fortress you have. It is still strongly recommended that you purchase mercenaries to boost your army, training your free recruits each day is simply not enough.

Weapon

During an attack the power of the two players is based on the power of single units and goes from half of the units power to all of it in a random way. Higher level units can therefore achieve better results because of the higher range, this connects quality and quantity of units. Weapons act as a stable adjustment factor to you overall attack score. We don't recommend that you buy weapons without a good efficiency level (efficency is considered as GOLD/[WA+WB+DA] you can see it in the table down below in the "E" column), also because they cost a lot and don't affect attacks too much, in this table we highlight best weapons and worst weapons. (WA = Weapon Adjustment, WB = Weapon Bonus, DA = Defence Adjustment)

Check the data of your race’s weapons by clicking on it in the menu down below and look at the table (thanks to Fufu).

Attacks

It's usually good to avoid attacking someone with more than the 2/3 of your power. The level of your enemy affects the fight result, practically every player has a "25 x level" bonus that affects his power (this can be especially important at the start of the game), the fortress affects the defenders' power so remember to check that (available on the warlord profile page). The number of Attack Points you use doesn't determine the result of a fight but does affect the gold and the experience points earned from it. Richer is your enemy greater will be your earning. Clan members with at least 3 weeks of seniority can use our tool to calculate the percentage of winning a fight. Last but not least, in a day you can use a maximum of 50 AP on a single, but remember that even using more than 20 AP is considered very aggressive.

DEFENCE BONUS

the defence bonus activates if you are getting massed (you are getting attacked a lot in a very short amount of time), it will go up 1% with every 2ap after it starts. It starts to drop over time as you pass tics without getting hit and it drops if you attack.

Gold

TYou gain gold every tic (30 minutes). The amount you gain is based on three things. Your level, the size of your army and markets. Every time you win a fight you gain experience, gain enough exp and you go up a level, go up a level earn more gold. Each unit you have in your army generates gold for you.It works like this. Your basic unit earns you the same amount as it's power. All other units earn you power + 2. Each level in market you have gains you more gold. Also when the market is open your troops earn twice their normal level. When the market is closed your troops earn you half their normal level. Finally you also earn extra gold if your in a clan and other people in your clan have markets. It's a nice way of helping out your friends.

Market gold: market_level * (50 + 8 * (clan_markets_number - 1))

When market is open your earn is

basic units : 2*(power_unit)
trained units : 2*(power_unit + 3)

when market is closed your earn is

basic units :(power_unit)/2
trained units : (power_unit + 3)/2 .

Exp and level

Some people use a passive tactic, increasing the number of troops without attacking and using the tic income to buy things. Until you attack you are invisible (at the beginning) and so this can be a good, but slow, way of gaining gold and power whilst building up your Attack Points. Without fighting you can't gain the experience needed to increase your level. Eventually you'll find yourself surrounded by enemies with powerful armies, good bonuses and a great game experience, ready to steal your money. The exp that you can acquire from an opponent is proportional to his/her army and level. This formula show you how much experience you need to increase your level:
[(2*L_Plus) - 1]*1000 (L_Plus is the level immediatly upper than your actual).

What to buy and when?

A good strategy is to spend the gold before you have too much otherwise you will attract enemies who will steal it. Use gold to buy mercenaries and increase your army (therefore increasing your income). For buildings, use the gold you earned from the attacks, so you can spend it before you attract "hunters" (it's a lot quicker to spend 300,000 gold on a building than it is on mercenaries). To understand how many APs you need to do a "building run" go in your Profile page and look at "Average Gold gained per AP" and in the building page look at the building cost. Your first building should be a barrack (to buy mercenries), and we suggest to improve your fortification beyond the first level as soon as possible.

Buildings

Fortification: 5 upgrades.
lvl 1: 0 defense costs 0 gold
lvl 2: 25 defense costs 50k gold
lvl 3: 200 defense costs 100k gold
lvl 4: 675 defense costs 300k gold
lvl 4+: 1600 defense costs 400k gold
Each lvl give an race-dependant increase in daily recruitment of "base-units".

Headquarters: 3 upgrades. Costs 40k gold each.
lvl 1: Give you the oppertunity to join a clan or create a clan.
lvl 2: Give the possibility of looking at the Clan war status and (if the clan has at least ten members) the clan forum. For clan leaders also the recruit button.
lvl 3: Give the clan leader the order attack button and for all members an extra menu for clan attacks.

Markets: Infinite upgrades. First upgrade costs 40k gold, each lvl after that costs 50k more than the last (50k,100k,100k etc.).
Each lvl gives 50 + 8 * (clan_markets_number - 1) gold in income. (282/lvl for full clan with markets). When you buy your 1st lvl market you get a bonus of 10 aps. The market is opened for 16 ticks a day (16 turns, 8 hours), during that time your income is 4 times the normal one (if your normal income is 100, it becomes 400). You earn gold based on the level of the market and extra gold from clan members having markets. If click in the Market menů you go to the manage market page. There you can find at which time the Market opens (remember that it's server time, so check on the upper right of Lords of Legend the difference from Server Time and your country time). There you can choose the opening time of your market, using the dropdown list. If you change it, it will applied only the day after you did it. It is better to open the market when you are ready to play.

Armoury (Armoury/Blacksmith/Workshop...etc.): 4 upgrades. First upgrade costs 50k gold, each lvl after that costs 50k more than the last.
Each lvl gives access to increasingly powerfull weapons and armour dependant on race.

Barracks (Barracks/Quarters/Billet/Tomb...etc.): 20 upgrades. First upgrade costs 50k gold, each lvl after that costs 50k more than the last.
Each upgrade gives a race-dependant number of spaces.
All troops except "base-unit" use 1 space in barracks each. When fully upgraded to lvl 20 there is infinite space.

Troopspecific-buildings: 20 upgrades each. First upgrade of each type costs 50k gold, each lvl after that costs 50k more than the last of its type.
Each upgrade gives a race-dependant number of spaces.
Lvl 3, 4 and 5 troops use 1 space each in their respective troopbuilding. When fully upgraded to lvl 20 there is infinite space.

Treasury: cost 20k.
You get 1% on what is on your hand (max 3500 per tic). The treasury gold is invisible to anyone except the player and can not be taken by other people. but you can use it only for weapons and armor. You gain your income before your treasury get its interest. So you gain the percentage of what you have after the tic and not what's on hand just before the tic crossover. When buying armory, treasury gold is deducted first- if you have 50k in treasury, 100k onhand, and buy say 75k worth of weapons- 50k treasury gold is used first, then 25k of your onhand gold.

Power limiter

When the power ammount of your base troops is over 1000 the system applies a power restriction. The power from base troops can only be half your power or you cannot buy new base troops, another good reason to start to organize a well balanced army as soon as possible.

Attack Point Cap

Another restriction in the game is to prevent the players from using more than 50 AP on the same player during a day. Generally speaking an attack is considered as very violent if uses more than 30AP.

Income Cap

Players can't earn more than 100,000 gold per turn, except for the income that comes from market.

Vacation mode

You can turn on Vacation Mode which will put your account on hold. You will not receive the game tic updates and this avoid to become a "bank" for your opponents. To turn vacation mode on, you need to request a vacation code via email under your account. Your account will be put on hold for a minimum of 48 hours !! After this time or when you want to play again, all you need to do is login to deactivate the vacation mode. If you have to go away for a long period, like holiday or other reason, you can click on "Edit Acount" on the left side menu and follow the istructions to activate the vacation mode.

Warlord Seeing Stone (Deathly Silence)

A warlord seeing stone can be used ONCE, and is used to see the stats of any warlord, as long as you are able to attack them (not in same clan or allied, and within attack range). This information includes their troops, their armory, warlord level, fortification, etc etc. It can be useful at higher levels, and are generally found quite frequently. To get one, attack warlords and they are randomly acquired during battle. Using many low AP attacks will get you more than a few high AP attacks.

Eye of Prosperity (Deathly Silence)

It can be used ONCE. It orders your attack pages from highest to lowest gold, instead of listing highest to lowest power. This is best used once you are at reasonably high power, as higher warlords inevitably have more gold, and at low power, you have no chance of hitting them. You get these the same way as WSS, but they are less common. Once again, using many low AP battles will yield more than using a few high AP battles.

CHEATERS

Who steal the password of other players and use it to damage that warlord is considered as a cheater. Who shear the password with another player is considered cheater. To have more then one account is considered cheating. Family or friends playing from the same computer or with the same IP should not be more then three. To have fake allyes or friends is considered cheating. Cheaters are not allowed in this Clan.

Why to join a clan?

Joining a clan brings a lot of advantages, first of all the pshicological one against the enemies, players tend to avoid attacking players with powerful friends or members of a clan which could arouse dislike, moreover a clan offers a great support in sharing informations and, pratically speaking, allows to earn money in proportion with the number of markets of the brothers. To join a clan you have to be at least level 5 and have an headquarter, you can't join a clan after level 40.
